Marshall Health Network - Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification for Advanced Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

The hospital first earned this certification in 2018.

The certification, offered in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, focuses on the pre-surgical orthopedic consultation to the intraoperative, hospitalization or ambulatory surgical center admission, rehabilitation activities, and follow-up visit with the orthopedic surgeon.

"Earning The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal once again reflects the joint replacement team’s ongoing dedication to clinical excellence and patient-centered care,” said Tim Martin, Chief Operating Officer of CHH. “This recognition reinforces our commitment to delivering the highest quality joint replacement services to the Tri-State community."

"Our advanced total hip and knee replacement program is built on a foundation of excellence, innovation and compassion,” said Dr. Ali Oliashirazi, Director of the Joint Replacement Program and Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. “We’re proud to be part of the few programs around the country that have the advanced certification."
