Window technicians from High Access Window Cleaning swapped their usual gear for superhero suits and rappelled from the side of Hoops Family Children's Hospital to entertain pediatric patients.
Superheroes appeared in the windows of pediatric patients at Marshall Health Network-Hoops Family Children’s Hospital Friday afternoon, delivering doses of smiles.
Heroes like Spiderman, Ironman and Thor rappelled down the hospital facade, waving into pediatric room windows before making their way inside to meet patients.
This is the second year employees from High Access Window Cleaning, an Ohio-based company, swapped their regular uniforms for their favorite superhero costumes to entertain patients at HFCH.
“Our goal is to make sure kids still get to feel like kids, even when they’re in the hospital,” said Carleigh Cazad Francis, B.M., MT-BC, Child Life Coordinator and music therapist at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital. “When our patients see superheroes outside their window, it gives them a moment to forget about treatment and just smile. Those moments of joy and play are a vital part of healing.”

“Being able to do this for the patients here means the world,” said Aaron Masters, window technician with High Access Window Cleaning. “Anything we can do to help them a little bit when they are going through hard things is special. We can uplift them and bring them hope in hard times.”
