Three Gables Surgery Center to transition surgical services to Marshall Health Network

Monday, August 10, 2026

Three Gables Surgery Center, an outpatient surgical facility in Proctorville, will begin a phased closure with operations expected to conclude later this year. During the coming months, procedures will transition to Marshall Health Network - St. Mary’s Medical Center and Marshall Health Network - Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Established in 2002, Three Gables has provided quality surgical care across the region for more than two decades. In recent years, surgical case volume has steadily declined while operating costs have continued to rise. Following a thorough review of the center’s operations, transitioning services was determined to be the most sustainable path forward. Both hospitals have the capacity to safely accommodate these procedures and maintain continuity of care.

Patients will be contacted directly if a procedure scheduled at Three Gables must be moved or rescheduled. Physicians who perform surgery at the center hold privileges at one or both hospitals, supporting continuity throughout the transition.

Marshall Health Network values the expertise and commitment of the Three Gables team and is meeting individually with affected employees to identify opportunities across the health system where their skills can continue to benefit patients.

Patients with questions about a scheduled procedure should contact their surgeon’s office. Additional information will be provided directly to affected patients as transition plans are finalized.
