Marshall Health Network welcomes four primary care physicians

Marshall Health Network has welcomed four new family medicine physicians, expanding access to primary care for patients and families across the region.

John R. Castillo, M.D., Sarah E. Lackey, D.O., Caroline Morgan, M.D., and Praise Nwachukwu, M.D., have joined Marshall Health Network’s primary care team and are accepting patients at locations in Huntington and Lavalette.

Castillo, a Huntington native and graduate of the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, provides primary care at Marshall Family Medicine in Lavalette and also practices at Marshall Sports Medicine Institute in Huntington. He completed his family medicine residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, and a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with subspecialty certification in sports medicine. He has a special interest in youth sports health.

Lackey provides primary care at Marshall Family Medicine in Huntington and also practices at Marshall Sports Medicine Institute. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed both her family medicine residency and sports medicine fellowship at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Morgan has joined HIMG Family Practice in Huntington. She earned her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, completed a family medicine internship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, and her family medicine residency at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine

Nwachukwu also practices at HIMG Family Practice. She earned her medical degree from Windsor University School of Medicine in St. Kitts and Nevis and completed her family medicine residency at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital in Pennsylvania. She has a special interest in preventative care, women's health, reproductive and contraceptive care and evidence-based management of obesity and metabolic health.

All four physicians also serve as assistant professors in the Department of Family and Community Health at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
