Marshall Health Network-St. Mary's Medical Center (SMMC) hosted its 18th annual Ladies in Pink Luncheon on Monday, Oct. 19, bringing more than 200 community members together to celebrate breast cancer survivors, honor those affected by the disease and raise funds to support local patients.

Held at St. Mary's Conference Center, this year's event featured the “Wicked”-inspired theme "There's No Place Like Hope," highlighting the courage, strength and resilience of individuals facing breast cancer. Attendees dressed in pink and green to celebrate the theme and enjoyed vendor shopping before the luncheon program.

The luncheon featured guest speaker Katie Davis, APRN, FNP-BC, along with breast cancer survivors Monica McClellan and Abbie Pannell, who shared their personal experiences and messages of hope.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Pink Ribbon Fund at St. Mary's Regional Cancer Center, which is celebrating 20 years of supporting local breast cancer patients. The fund provides financial assistance to women who may struggle with expenses associated with breast cancer treatment, helping ease the burden so they can focus on their health and recovery.

"No one should have to face breast cancer alone," said Anne Hammack, RN, BSN, clinical coordinator at St. Mary's Breast Center. "For 20 years, the Pink Ribbon Fund has been a source of hope and comfort for patients during some of their most difficult days. This luncheon is a beautiful reminder of how much it means to know your community is standing beside you."

Community members who were unable to attend the luncheon can still make a difference in the lives of local breast cancer patients. Donations to the Pink Ribbon Fund help provide much-needed financial support to women navigating the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
